Some info on the awards that nominated students will receive: We have been Teaching the students about the virtues every week. A virtue is about habits and attitudes about some good. The students were evaluated on whether they have demonstrated behavior from one of the award categories more than a few times throughout the year. For example, if shared their faith often and proclaimed some truth of the faith, they would get the JPII award. If listening was difficult for a student, and they endured (what they considered a difficulty) for the sake of what is good, they would be nominated for the St. Faustina or St. Bernadette award. Here are the five award categories -
Our Lady of Good Counsel - Model of Excellence in Christian Virtue (faith, hope and charity).
St. Peter the Apostle - Model of Christian Leadership (students who know and lead the way for others, and inspire them to Christian virtue as well)
St. Faustina / St. Bernadette - Model of the virtue of obedience and courage (fortitude).
St. John Paul II the Great - Model of evangelization, proclamation, and witness to the faith and the virtues.
St. Augustine - Model of growth on the path towards virtue.
