March 5, 2021 Weekly Newsletter

Happy Friday, SMCS Families!

Not as much to report and share this week.  Please keep selling raffle tickets.  Below in red has further information for locations to sell tickets.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

2021 Jackpot Raffle
Here is the 2021 Jackpot Raffle incentive to sell more tickets!  Let’s sell all the tickets to make for a successful fundraiser once more for our school.  If you have sold your tickets and need more, please contact the office.

As you sell your tickets, please consider turning them in along with checks/cash.  There is a bin labeled “office” in the south entrance (playground side).  When you are buzzed in, just indicate you are dropping off tickets and funds, then place them in the bin.  Someone from the office will remove them straight away.  Thank you.

Tickets may be sold after Mass at various parishes!  Please find the list of places and times to sign-up to sell.  You do not have to be Catholic to sell after a Mass!

Reminders Recess Duty
Please continue signing up to assist with recess.  Please click here  to sign up to help with monitoring recess.  Recess runs from 11:20-12:40 Monday – Friday.  The booking page is password protected for the safety of our students; please do not share it.

Recess duty information may be found here.

Student Absences
If your child(ren) will be absent, please contact the school no later than 9:00 a.m.  Either call the office, leave a message if necessary, or email the office/your child’s teacher.  We need to know your child is safe and to not expect him/her at school that day.

WAYS TO SUPPORT ST MARY’S CATHOLIC SCHOOL

Online shopping during COVID-19 has doubled.  Amazon.com accounts for nearly 40% of all online shopping.  Have you purchased anything on Amazon recently? These Amazon purchases can help raise money for St Mary’s Catholic School!   See these directions for how to set up smile.amazon.com to donate directly to our school.

SMCS participates in SCRIP, a program that helps fund the school by purchasing gift cards to popular stores.  The updated fillable SCRIP Order Sheet may be used to place your SCRIP cards order.  If you have any questions, please email Theresa Miller at tmiller@eupschools.org or call the school office. 906-635-6141

February 17, 2020 Weekly Newsletter

Dear Families of St. Mary’s Catholic School,

Progress Reports issued Tuesday.

Good luck to our spellers heading to the regional competition being held in Pickford on Thursday.

Friday is a half day with dismissal taking place at 11:00 a.m.  Parent/Teacher conferences, by request – either by parent or teacher – will be held in the afternoon.  If you need to speak with your child’s teacher regarding academics or behavior, please contact him/her directly to set up a conference.  Thank you.

Looking ahead, February 26th is Ash Wednesday which will cause our school Mass to take place on Wednesday next week rather than Thursday.  Regular school Mass time, 8:15 a.m.

HASA’s next event is our student talent show/potluck.  Please see the enclosed flyer for further information.

Reminder that our Kindergarten round-up is Friday, March 6th.  Any family considering their child for Kindergarten in fall 2020 should schedule an appointment by calling the school office, 906-635-6141.  Thank you.

Our “Caught Living the Virtue” board is filling up with pictures of our students.  It’s wonderful seeing virtues in action!

Hope all of you have a great week.
God bless,
Hedy A. Yanni
Principal
