Dear Families of St. Mary’s Catholic School,
Happy Reading Month! SMCS reading month theme is Embracing Diversity. Please see enclosed calendar and information pages regarding up and coming events during March. The books noted on the calendar are books teachers are reading throughout the month to their classes in order to participate and vote during March Readiness Madness; March Reading Madness stats may be seen in the gym.
Our Virtue for March is Prayerfulness.
Definition of Prayerfulness is being still, listening, and being willing to talk to God as a friend
Prayerfulness Looks Like:
(Ages 6 and Up) – Fold your hands while you pray
(Ages 10 and Up) – Maintain a spirit of stillness with your body, mind, and heart while praying; make visits to the Chapel; create a place of payer in your home
(Ages 12 and Up) – Foster a spirit of interiority in your body, mind, and heart; participate in the sacraments regularly; make a place of prayer in your home.
Prayerfulness Sounds Like: “I love you, Jesus.”
Education in Virtue
Thursday is the talent show and potluck. Potluck dinner begins at 5:30pm with the show starting at 6:00pm
Kindergarten Round-up is Friday. There are still spots available for assessing, one would just need to phone the office.
We are looking to host some family fun nights. One of these nights would be game night. If you should have some gently used games you would like to donate, we would be happy to accept. Or, if you do not have games but would like to help us build our inventory of family games, a monetary donation would be welcome as well. All games/donations may be brought or sent to the school office. Thank you.
The lunch menu was changed due to the snow day last Friday, and mistakenly said we have a half day this Friday – this is not accurate. Friday, March 6th is a full day for St Mary’s.
Please find attached information regarding statistics in schools and the 2020 Census.
